Welcome
If you are reading this its probably because you need counsel. I choose the word “counsel” because it encompasses a broader meaning than do the words “attorney” or “lawyer”.
I view my job as your counsel as requiring more than the filing of legal papers. It involves assisting you and your loved ones in getting through a difficult and heart wrenching process. I do this by creating as many options, or choices, as possible for my client. These options include pre-indictment efforts to avoid prosecution, post-indictment motion practice and plea negotiations, and of course trial. At every stage of the process the options are evaluated and discussed with the client, allowing him or her to make an informed, and the best, decision.
I have been practicing law since 1982. As a prosecutor working for Janet Reno in the early 1980’s, and as a defense attorney in both state and federal courts since then, I have gained invaluable experience and extraordinary insight into how and why things happen within the criminal justice system. That wealth of knowledge is available to you should you need it. When the government seeks to take your life or your liberty, you need an experienced and passionate advocate on your side. As your counsel I would be that person.
